- Account information: Name, email address, practice name, and logo when you register for a Plate Assist account.
- Client information: Names and email addresses of clients you invite to the platform.
- Guideline content: Nutritional guidelines, protocols, and restriction documents you upload or paste into Plate Assist.
- Recipe data: Recipe text, URLs, ingredients, and analysis results submitted by clients or nutritionists.
- Usage data: Log data including IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, timestamps, and feature usage patterns.
- Billing information: Payment details are processed securely through our third-party payment provider and are not stored on our servers.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Power recipe analysis against your uploaded nutritional guidelines.
- Generate and send weekly recipe digest emails to your clients.
- Provide your nutritionist dashboard with client activity data.
- Maintain, improve, and develop the Plate Assist platform.
- Communicate with you about your account, updates, and support requests.
- Ensure the security and integrity of our platform.
3. Data Storage and Security
All data is stored on US-based servers with encryption at rest and in transit (TLS 1.2+). We implement industry-standard security measures including access controls, regular security audits, and monitoring to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or your clients' data to third parties. We may share data only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers: We use trusted third-party services for hosting, email delivery, and payment processing. These providers are contractually bound to protect your data.
- AI processing: Recipe analysis uses Anthropic's Claude AI model. Recipe text and guideline content are sent to the AI for analysis. No personal identifiers are included in AI requests.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process.
5. Data Ownership
You retain full ownership of all data you and your clients submit to Plate Assist, including nutritional guidelines, recipe data, and client information. We do not claim any ownership rights over your content.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of all data we hold about you and your clients.
- Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information in your account.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data. Upon account deletion, we will remove all your data, including client data, guideline content, and recipe analysis history, within 30 days.
- Export: Export your data in a standard format at any time.
7. Cookies and Tracking
We use essential cookies to maintain your session and preferences. We do not use third-party advertising trackers. We may use anonymized analytics to understand usage patterns and improve the platform.
8. Children's Privacy
Plate Assist is designed for use by nutrition professionals and their adult clients. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us immediately.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through a notice on our platform. Continued use of Plate Assist after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
